A Good Work
Philippians
1:6
“Being
confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in
you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
This
is just another study proving that the word of God is powerful and
alive. I have been walking through some pretty painful personal
“growth spurts” lately. I have wondered many times when God would
give up on me and say “well she’s just not going to get it…
NEXT!” but He doesn’t do that. My Father in Heaven loves me so
much, and wants to see me through these things. He is walking beside
me even as I write this and try to express accurately what this verse
so clearly said to me. This verse tell tells me that Jesus won’t
give up on me, that He is purposefully walking me through these
things so that I can be a better tool for Him to use. Even though it
hurts, and seems hopeless at times I can find comfort in knowing that
He is faithful to complete the works He has begun in me until the day
Jesus returns for His church. This doesn’t make it any easier in
the moment, but I can remember His truth and love and choose to dwell
on that instead of on the problem right in front of me.
Application
Whenever
I am feeling over run by guilt and condemnation I will step back,
remember that there is now no condemnation for those who are in
Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and begin to thank Him for His never
ending grace. I will remember His promise to see me through to His end of perfection in the day of Jesus Christ.
